Rebels release hostages in the Philippines as security forces gain the upper hand

The Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) has invaded the city in an attempt to derail a rival rebel group's planned peace pact with the government.

More than 100 people held by the rebels were released overnight.

The military says a sustained offensive, which began on Friday and included helicopter rocket attacks, was proving a success.
"For the past 18 hours, we have been able to rescue 116 people due to pressure from our troops on the ground," military spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Ramon Zagala told AFP.

Officials say the death toll has reached 87, with 71 rebels, nine security forces and seven civilians killed.

Today we grieve for 2,977 American victims of jihad in the worst attack on the homeland in US history. Twelve years we mourn their horrible deaths. It is not a day of service, it is a day of mourning. Despite a decade of war, the motive and the ideology has been scrubbed from the national dialague. Articles and books by Robert Spencer, Ibn Waraq et al were in the mainstream. The National Geographic series Inside 911 was excellent investigative reporting on the jihad. I highly recommend it. It should be part of the 911 curriculum in schools instead of the kumbaya national day of service tripe.

Once abducted, the girl identified only as “Miriam,” was forced into a temporary marriage with the commander of Jabhat al-Nusra and raped. He then renounced their marriage, only to pass her onto another militant for the same treatment.

One after another, a total of fifteen Islamist rebels “married” the young girl, raped her and renounced the marriage, a process which continued for more than two weeks.

After all had their way with her, the girl was executed.

To date, Syrian Report and the Modern Tokyo Times are the only news outlets to report this story.

When the most violent religion on earth is called the religion of peace, it may be time to consider the fact that something is seriously wrong with our society. A video has emerged of an opposition rebel militant in Syria apparently confessing to using chemical weapons in order to follow Osama Bin Laden’s mantra of killing women and children.

The individual in the clip, Nadeem Baloosh, is a member of an insurgent group called Riyadh Al Abdeen, which is active in the Latakia area of Syria.

Baloosh speaks of “chemicals which produce lethal and deadly gases that I possess,” before going on to state, “We decided to harm them through their women and kids.”

Baloosh ponders if it is acceptable to harm women and children before quoting the Koran, “Fight them as they fight you. ” He goes on to quote Osama Bin Laden (whom other rebel groups have openly praised).
“We’ll kill their women and children like Sheikh Osama Bin Laden said – “until they cease killing our women and kids,” he states.

Baloosh goes on to talk about the Syrian Army approaching the area where his rebel group was located, before stating, “So we had the idea that this weapon was very powerful and effective to repel them, we announced if they approached one meter, everything is permitted.”
“We will strike them in their homes, we will turn their day into night and their night into day,” adds Baloosh.

Al-Qaeda linked terrorists in Syria have beheaded all 24 Syrian passengers traveling from Tartus to Ras al-Ain in northeast of Syria, among them a mother and a 40-days old infant.

Gunmen from the terrorist Islamic State of Iraq and Levant stopped the bus on the road in Talkalakh and killed everyone before setting the bus on fire.

According to media reports, the attack was carried out because the passengers who were from three different villages in Ras al-Ain, supported anti-terrorist Kurdish groups which were formed recently to defend Kurdish population against anti-Syria terrorists.

Bodies of a mother and her 40-days infant were also seen among the dead, which were recognized by their relatives.

Syrian Kurdish leader Saleh Muslim warned on Friday that the Kurd minority is facing an ethnic cleansing by al-Qaeda terrorists.

While there is no end in sight to the bloody foreign-fueled conflict in Syria, another front has been formed between the Kurdish militia and extremist militants in Northern Syria.

Al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorist groups operating in the country, including the al-Nusra Front, are trying to capture Kurdish territories and make them part of a state they want to create in the region.

Following deadly attacks on Kurdish regions in recent months, groups of Kurdish militia were formed to protect their people.

Anti-Syria armed groups continue to target civilians amid US threats against Syrian army and government which have made militants find it easier to widen their attacks.

Following worldwide criticism, US President Barack Obama delayed an imminent military strike against Syria on August 31, sending the matter to the Congress to get more support.

On the same day in Cairo, pro-Morsi street camps erupted into protest and security forces shot dead more than 600 people, sparking yet more violence and bloodshed across Egypt.

Fresh video has emerged from Egypt showing the storming of a Coptic church, apparently proving claims that supporters of former President Mohammed Morsi have been laying waste to Christian churches.

The Arab League is calling for the United Nations and the international community to take steps against Syria over its recent alleged gas attack.

Syrian state paper calls Obama's move a 'retreat'

A Syrian state-run newspaper called Obama's decision to seek congressional approval before taking military action against Syria "the start of the historic American retreat."

"Whether the Congress lights the red or green light for an aggression, and whether the prospects of war have been enhanced or faded, President Obama has announced yesterday, by prevaricating or hinting, the start of the historic American retreat," the Al-Thawra daily said.

The paper also said Obama's reluctance to take military action stems from his "sense of implicit defeat and the disappearance of his allies."
