Hmmm...  size matters!

In an interview with the Moroccan weekly Al Akhbar, the Moroccan imam said that, from a religious point of view, “the use of pumpkin, watermelon or other tools for masturbating is perfectly legitimate.”

On the other hand, in a response to a post on using vibrators to gain sexual desires, the Imam replied on his Facebook page, that a Muslim woman “has the right to use bottles, vibrators or other objects, without penetration or loss of virginity, to satisfy her sexual desires and avoids falling into the prohibited.”

The self proclaimed Imam got himself again in hot water and quite a bit of ridicule by delivering such unusual and trivial “fatwas”.

This is not the first time that the imam makes such a surprising statement.

He had previously issued a “fatwa” permitting women to use carrots to satisfy their sexual desires. Yet, the most shocking one was in May 2011 when he told the Moroccan press that Islam allows necrophilia, believing that marriage remains valid even after the death of a spouse or partner.

“Fatwa” is an Islamic religious decree issued by the Oulemas (Islamic scholars).

“Fatwas” are normally issued only by official councils in charge of Islamic affairs in Muslim countries, and any individual statement by an Imam is but a personal point of view.
